  • Cultural and Sports diplomacy and Exchange Programmes
Zimbabwe and Malaysia engage in cultural exchange through official events hosted by the Malaysian Embassy in Harare, which include student activities, educational presentations, and cultural sharing sessions. These programs feature Malaysian dances, music, and food, as well as discussions on educational opportunities in Malaysia and the sharing of Zimbabwean stories and heritage. The exchanges aim to build stronger cultural and educational ties between the two countries.

Key activities and programs
  • Educational exchange:
The Malaysian Embassy in Harare hosts events for Zimbabwean students to learn about Malaysia, including presentations on educational opportunities at Malaysian universities.

  • Cultural performances:
Programs often feature traditional Malaysian music and dance performances, such as those organized with local organizations like the Dzikwa Trust.

  • Cultural immersion:
Participants can engage in hands-on experiences like learning traditional Malaysian games such as Sepak Takraw and Batu Seremban (five stones).

  • Culinary experiences:
Events include demonstrations and tastings of traditional Malaysian dishes, like chicken rice, and a look at local breakfast culture.

  • Storytelling and history sharing:
Sessions involve sharing stories about Malaysian culture and history, as well as the history and cultural diversity of Zimbabwe, including its music, dance, and heritage sites.
