Zimbabwe and Angola’s relations have remained cordial since the era of the struggle for Independence when Angola made sacrifices in providing military training and bases to our liberation war fighters. This relationship is deeply rooted in shared common values including respect for sovereignty and promoting global peace, justice and sustainable economic prosperity and cultural diversity through mutually beneficial ties.
Angola, located on the western Atlantic Coast of South-Central Africa, is bequeathed with varied beautiful terrain and climate, and abundant resources. The country has great potential for development. Zimbabwe, centrally located in the Southern Africa region, provides vast investment opportunities in the areas of, among others, mining and mineral beneficiation, infrastructure development, agriculture and agro-processing, manufacturing, tourism and education.
Since the establishment of diplomatic ties between Zimbabwe and Angola more than 40 years ago, the bilateral relations have constantly strengthened, featuring friendliness, sincerity, equality and mutual respect and support. In 1992, the two countries established a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership by signing the Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation (JPCC).
